Living That Lakeview Life | Heritage Bicycles

This is Lakeview!

***Update: It’s April 2020, and our Governor here in Illinois just extended our shelter-in-place existence through May. Heritage has recently launched their Heritage Initiative to support essential workers. Buy them a cup or box of coffee, donuts or even creamer! Spread the word.***

I am so excited to announce the launch of Living that Lakeview Life – my collaboration with one of my favorite Hair/make-up artists and Lifestyle Blogger, Lynzie Wellin of Lyfe Style Win! We are both entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Lakeview community of Chicago, and we wanted a way to show off our favorite fellow business owners, so…here we are! Each month we’ll get together at a new place and share their awesomeness with you.

For me personally, I’ve been in and around the Lakeview area for over 20 years. I live in the neighborhood and am very active in the area, currently serving my second term on the Lakeview Chamber Board of Directors. So, it’s definitely near and dear to my heart!

“When I got the bike I must have been the happiest boy in Liverpool, maybe the world.”

For our inaugural installment, and in celebration of National Bike Month and this weekend’s Bike the Drive, we sat down with Michael Salvatore, owner at Heritage Bicycles, to talk about one of our favorite coffee shops. Hop on over to Lynzie’s blog to see the 5 questions we asked him, and what Michael’s secret local spot is for pizza.

I hope we inspire you to get out and try these places out!

Cheers,

This is Lynzie and, yep – Coffee AND Bikes! They’ve got ’em both in this cute storefront on Lincoln Avenue.

Coffee or tea? If you know me, I’m the tea drinker – even though Lynzie’s coffee sure is pretty! – and Heritage has a great selection of really tasty teas.

There’s fun little decor and details all around. Leave a note on the old Underwood typewriter or…smell that wonderful tea! It all goes with the vibe here, which we both love. It’s a good place to meet, brainstorm and work.

And did we mention bikes? They are the first all Chicago-made bicycle since Schwinn! Who knew? And, of course, Michael rides the Chief all over with his wife, Melissa, and their sons.

How about that bike helmet?! I’m a hat girl, and I love both the helmet and the ball cap. But, really…is there a better bike accessory than the wine carrier?! We don’t think so.

How cute does this Heritage button look with my assortment of Big League Pins? Thanks, Lynzie, for the photo.

You can’t pass up this outdoor space in the nicer months. It’s a great place to meet, hang out, do some work. And, we’ll definitely be catching a movie during the summer!
